POLISH ACADEMY OF SCIENCES

A progress report poster session on scientific activity of the Centre of Polymer and Carbon Materials of the Polish Academy of Sciences in 2009 was held on 8th March, 2010.

Prof. Janusz Jurczak, a Chairman of Division III Mathematical, Physical and Chemical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences handed over three equivalent prizes for the authors of the best posters from among PhD students. The awards went to B. Mendrek, M.Sc., M. Sobota, M.Sc., A. Łamacz M.Sc. and  A. Piekarz, M.Sc. for their following works:

1. B. Mendrek, B. Trzebicka, W. Wałach
   Four arm poly(tert-butyl acrylate) stars – synthesis and characterization.
2. M. Sobota, P. Dacko, J. Rydz, M. Kowalczuk,
   Multilayer and monolayer packaging materials based on natural polyesters and their synthetic analogs.
3. A. Łamacz, A. Piekarz, A. Krztoń,
   Catalytic decomposition of the nitrogen oxides emitted from coal combustion flue gases and industrial processes.
