Dynamic mechanical analyzer DMA 2980, TA Print

Dynamic mechanical analyzer DMA 2980, TA Instruments is useful for evaluation of viscoelastic properties such as: stiffness, storage and loss modulus, viscosity, damping characteristics, primary and secondary transition temperature (glass transition temperature, softening point). The method can be also applied to study of rate and degree of cure,  gelation and vitrification. Measurements can be  conducted at variable or constant mechanical strain. Different measurement geometry allows to conduct analysis under the bending, stretching, compressing, and shearing loadings. The dynamic mechanical properties of samples are determined in the function of the temperature, the frequency or also force and strain.

Application of Time-Temperature Superposition modelling method can provide useful information about long-term behaviour of studied materials for frequencies much exceeding the measuring range of apparatus.
  • Temperature range: -150°C do 600°C,
  • Frequency: 0.01-200Hz,
  • Heating/cooling rate: 0.1-50/0.1-10 deg./min
  • Sample: in normalized bulk solid form, films, gels, foams, viscous liquid form
  • Atmosphere: air or inert gas
